Joanna Jensen - Assistant Principal

Welcome to Mission San Jose High School.  I'm excited to work with MSJ community as Assistant Principal.  I have worked with Fremont Unified School District at Mission San Jose High School the past six years as a school counselor and am thrilled to begin my seventh year in this new role.  I look forward to getting to know the students, staff, parents and great Mission community better as Assistant Principal.

I went into education with the belied that all students should have opportunities to learn and grow to become engaged members or our society.  I earned a B.A. in Sociology with a Minor Criminal Justice from Sonoma State University and my M.S. in Educational Counseling from National University.  Most recently, I earned a certificate in School Violence and Culture as I am always looking forward for opportunities to enhance my knowledge in various areas.

I am a strong believer in self care and know that we cannot have great accomplishments without taking care of ourselves.  One of my favorite activities outside of the school day is dance.  I grew up in a dance studio and now have the privilege to share my knowledge of tap, jazz, and ballet with children of all ages.  I really encourage  all students to find an activity outside of school that keeps them active and promotes self care.

This year I am assigned to assist all 11th-grade students and 9th-grade students with the last names M-Z.  I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year ahead.  Be sure to stop by my office to say hi!
